MAGNA-TILES debuts its first animated series on YouTube, with original characters, songs and a companion Friends Pack planned for January 2027.

MAGNA-TILES is extending its magnetic building sets into original screen storytelling with MAGNA-TALES, an animated series that brings the brand’s familiar building play into a character-led world. The series premiered on YouTube in October 2026, and new episodes and songs are scheduled to appear weekly through the end of the holiday season. For collectors and toy retailers, the key detail is the planned bridge back to physical play: companion toys featuring the show’s characters are slated for January 2027.

A new setting for familiar building play
The series follows Maggie, Tyler, Sparky, Clyde and Mayor Rudy in Builders Bay, a setting where the characters dream up projects and build their way through adventures. Mayor Rudy is described as a tribute to MAGNA-TILES founder Rudy Valenta. The cast and setting give the brand a set of original characters to use across episodes and related toys, while the construction theme keeps the stories tied to the activity at the center of the product line.
MAGNA-TILES says the show was developed around original characters and storylines, drawing inspiration from the popularity of its core building sets and consumer interest in thematic sets and Figures. Viewers will see recognizable products in the episodes, including the Undersea Adventure set from the 2026 Ocean Collection. The series also adds playful recurring details: fainting goats are expected to pop up across Season 1.
That product visibility makes the episodes useful reference points for fans who want to identify a set seen on screen and recreate a scene at home. It also gives retailers a natural way to connect the viewing experience with hands-on construction displays. The series’ premise is straightforward: children watch the characters build, then use their own sets to imagine what happens next.
Episodes, music and companion toys
Music is part of the release, with original songs accompanying the episodes. The titles include “Click It” and “MAGNA-TALES Spooktacular,” a Halloween-themed song. The company describes the series as combining entertainment with creativity and problem-solving, encouraging children to carry ideas from the screen into their own builds. Those are the brand’s stated aims; the available details focus on the creative play connection rather than specific learning measures.
The next physical product step is a new group of companion toys featuring Maggie, Tyler, Sparky and Clyde, planned for release in January 2027. MAGNA-TILES also says the MAGNA-TALES Friends Pack, featuring the main characters, is available for presale on Amazon. The announcement does not provide a price, item number, piece count or final release date for the pack, so collectors tracking the line will need to watch for further product details.
Michael Valenta, MAGNA-TILES president, said the series connects stories children watch with the worlds they build themselves. That positioning gives the screen content a clear role alongside the physical sets: episodes introduce characters and situations, while the toys give children materials to make their own versions. For shops, the January companion-toy timing may create an opportunity to group character products with construction sets once the new items arrive.
Where to watch and brand background
Families can find MAGNA-TALES on YouTube. The series’ playlist is linked through the MAGNA-TALES page, and the channel is available at YouTube. The songs “Click It” and “MAGNA-TALES Spooktacular” have separate links. The Undersea Adventure set is identified as part of the 2026 Ocean Collection.
MAGNA-TILES traces its start to a classroom in 1997, describing the original magnetic construction brand as invented by an educator for educators. The company says its sets are used in homes and classrooms across more than 80 countries. Its “America’s #1 Magnetic Building Sets brand” ranking is attributed to Circana, LLC, Retail Tracking Service, U.S., Magnetic Building Sets by Brand, USD Sales, 12 months ending December 2025.
The series establishes a new format for the brand and puts its characters in place ahead of the planned toy release. The practical points to track are the weekly episode and song rollout through the 2026 holiday season, plus fuller product details for the Friends Pack and January 2027 companion toys. Those milestones will show how the Builders Bay stories connect with the sets children can build with at home.
