The 1,935-piece Street Mod Garage pairs removable walls, a lit workshop and a customizable car with four minifigures.

Lumibricks’ Street Mod Garage L9088 earns its place in a city layout through the way its display features double as play access. The two-storey Street Fusion building opens at the front and rear, fits a vehicle inside, and packs its workshop with small details. At roughly 1,935 pieces, it’s a substantial scene-building set, with a lighting kit, a custom car and four minifigures included.
A garage with a strong street presence
The model draws on the look of an independent American garage from the 1970s and 1980s. Gray and red brickwork forms the two-storey shell, while the opening front door and hinged, custom-printed garage door give the façade practical access. A large wheel, printed signs, a “Roar Wild” graphic and “Built For Speed Customs” branding set the scene for a business associated with the Street Machine Club.
One side adds much of the building’s industrial character: exterior HVAC ducting, a small second-floor balcony and a service entrance beside a graffiti-marked window. A basketball and hoop offer a modest break from the workshop activity. The set instructions place a ladder on the roof, though it can be repositioned at ground level. The other side is quieter, with windows interrupting a broad expanse of gray brick.
The two-tone rear wall lifts away, and the entire front wall can also be removed. Those openings make the interior easy to reach during play and give the finished build a clear display option. The work area has a compressor, cabinets and vehicle parts; ramps lead into the shop, with storage units alongside. More parts storage lines the inside of the rear wall.
A mezzanine adds another level inside, with a small staircase connecting it to the rooftop. The interior lighting includes a bright white fixture that evokes fluorescent shop lights. Above, a large skylight dominates the roof. A seating nook built from the front end of a vintage car gives the mechanics a place to pause, with a radio completing the workshop hangout.
Car, figures and lighting
The included sports car has a sloping nose and an oversized rear wing, calling to mind the 1970s Dodge Daytona and Plymouth Superbird. Extra parts let builders alter its look. In this build, the reviewer converted the car to a convertible and swapped its gold rims for black ones. Three small parts carts round out the workshop accessories, while four new minifigures—two men and two women—give the garage a crew for scenes and photographs.
The model’s lighting is another recognizable part of the build. The product details list seven LED lights, and the set includes a multi-element lighting kit. One assembly point needs care: the wireless connector behind the large sign must be correctly oriented and pressed firmly into place. If it isn’t, the light above the front sign may fail to illuminate. Taking time to check that connection can save dismantling later sections.
Build notes and custom touches
The reviewer found the clutch firm and the ABS parts solid, with a generous parts inventory. Printed elements and small decorative pieces mean the build involves plenty of detail work, and sorting the small bags and components takes attention. Instructions come as a substantial printed manual; a PDF is also available online, which the reviewer used for the build.
The reviewer’s personal changes included placing the garage on a raised baseplate, which made it easier to move and feel more rigid. They later removed the sidewalk crack, added door knobs and relocated the lighting hub from the roof to the mezzanine. That last adjustment suited their preference for powering the lights through a USB extension and wall supply instead of the included battery pack.
Set details
L9088 is a 16+ Street Fusion set with roughly 1,935 pieces, 18 printed elements and no stickers. It includes four Lumibricks minifigures, the customizable car, garage accessories and a lighting kit listed with seven LEDs. Its footprint is suited to a 32×32-stud baseplate. The combination of accessible interiors, printed signage and scene props gives builders plenty to arrange, while the removable walls make those details easier to see once the build is complete.
For collectors who enjoy photographing miniature workshops or building out a street scene, the Street Mod Garage offers more than a detailed façade: it’s an openable, lighted setting with room for a car and a crew.
