Lumibricks The Bodega 26 Set 19017 Review: 618 Pieces, Printed Details and LED Lighting

Lumibricks’ The Bodega 26, set 19017, turns a compact corner shop into a densely detailed town scene. Its strongest draw is the way the set combines a fully furnished interior, printed signage and integrated lighting on a 16x24-stud base. The reviewer found plenty to like in the finished model, while flagging a short exterior light wire and a hotdog counter that sits high for the minifigure.

Lumibricks, previously known as Funwhole, places the set in its Street Fusion lineup. The review describes its lighting as designed into the building, with wires routed through the structure. Set 19017 has 618 pieces, one Lumibricks-style minifigure named Papi, and a three-point LED system powered by a battery box or USB plug. The set was listed at $39.99 USD or $55 CDN, with a release date of August 26, 2026. It is described as compatible with standard major-brand bricks.

What’s in the box

The box art depicts the bodega in a street setting, but the taxi shown there isn’t part of the set. Inside are an instruction booklet, an orange packet for the lighting components, and 11 numbered parts bags, grouped around building steps 1 through 4. Two additional bags marked S and another marked F contain extra or specialized parts, including elements for the lighting and Papi.

The orange packet holds the delicate LED parts, thin wiring, light elements and a CR2032 battery box; batteries aren’t included. The 163-page instruction book introduces Papi, his cat and the shop’s features, with clear, colorful building steps. The cat and pigeon have turning heads, adding a little posing flexibility to the street scene.

A small shop built from the inside out

The build starts with the floor and store fixtures, filling the base before the outer walls go up. That order gives the interior detail room to develop early. The sandwich counter includes a coffee station and deli counter, alongside a cooler, printed soda cans, beer bottles and individual snack bags.

Next come the walls, windows and awnings, which use numerous printed pieces. The roof lifts off, and a skylight offers a view down into the store. The set has no stickers: its 48 printed parts cover details throughout the model, including the awning and window glass.

Lighting, access and small compromises

Three lights illuminate the shop: one inside, one above the entrance and one at the corner sign. The reviewer’s corner light wire was too short to reach its retaining peg, so it was left loose. The large “Papi Grocery” sign isn’t backlit, and the review points to the 8 Down soda sign and deli sign as other spots where extra lighting might have added interest. The 8 Down branding is a playful nod to 7 Up.

Play access is a clear strength. The rear wall swings open, the entire storefront can be removed, and the roof lifts away. At the front, an ATM and gumball machine add small points of interest, while printed window details give the shop a busy, lived-in look. A ladder provides access to the rooftop.

One interior proportion may invite a builder’s own adjustment: the hotdogs sit high enough that Papi can barely reach them. The reviewer considered lowering the counter, a simple example of how the model’s open access can support small custom changes.

Verdict

The review scores The Bodega 26 at 4.7 out of 5. Its 618 pieces make a compact build, but the packed interior, 48 printed elements and removable walls give it substantial display and play value. The lighting adds atmosphere, though the short corner wire and unlit main sign keep the system from feeling fully polished. For a town layout that needs a detailed neighborhood storefront, the set’s strongest features are its characterful shop interior and easy access from several sides.

The set was listed for sale through the Lumibricks Amazon store and Lumibricks website. Its compact base, colorful storefront and accessible interior make it an easy fit for a busy brick-built block; check the light wiring during assembly and decide whether the counter height suits your display or play setup.

The review also shows the bodega placed within a larger town layout, where the box-art taxi appears in the scene. That’s a separate addition to the display, not a piece included with set 19017.
