The 1,354-piece Holiday House brings a fresh roofline, a buildable tree and a trotting horse, though its sparse interior and visible light brick disappoint.

LEGO Icons 11387 Holiday House Review: Winter Village 2026 Set

LEGO Icons 11387 Holiday House gives the Winter Village Collection a new snowy building for 2026, with a distinct roofline and a horse-drawn sleigh. The set contains 1,354 pieces, costs €109.99 and is scheduled to arrive on October 1. Its exterior brings welcome variety to the series, while the exposed roof structure and lightly furnished interior make this an appealing but uneven addition.

A different look for the village

After 10361 Holiday Express Train in 2025, this year’s Winter Village release returns to a house. The building has several roof styles and a small terrace at the front, giving it a silhouette that stands apart from recent homes in the series. Two decorated pieces are printed, so there are no stickers to apply to those elements.

The set also shifts the collection’s focus back to a conventional seasonal building. It doesn’t include Santa or elves, as seen in 10339 Santa’s Post Office (2024) and 10275 Elf Club House (2020). In that respect, it sits closer to 10325 Alpine Lodge (2023) and 10308 Holiday Main Street (2022). For collectors building a street or village display, the architectural change is the clearest reason to look twice at this release.

10361 Holiday Express Train, 10339 Santa’s Post Office, 10275 Elf Club House, 10325 Alpine Lodge and 10308 Holiday Main Street provide useful reference points for the set’s place in the collection.

The tree shapes the interior

The large Christmas tree is designed to stand inside the house, and that choice explains much of the interior’s open floor space. It gives the model a strong seasonal focal point, but leaves less room for furnishings and other details. I’d have liked more interior dressing, especially since the tree doesn’t completely fill the room it occupies.

A light brick illuminates the tree, though the light source is conspicuous and the effect struggles to brighten the interior. The top of the central section also looks unfinished: the roof structure remains exposed, and the light brick is easy to spot. Viewed from above, the roof can appear to be missing its peak. Open backs are familiar in Winter Village buildings, but here the upper section feels less resolved than the attractive exterior suggests.

LEGO’s light brick is an underwhelming match for the job. It doesn’t produce the even glow that would make the tree and room read clearly through the open building. A dedicated lighting kit can deliver a different effect, but none is included here. The issue isn’t simply brightness: the visible component draws attention to itself, while the unfinished-looking roof makes its placement harder to overlook.

Fresh tree design and a moving sleigh

The tree continues a recurring Winter Village design challenge: each year’s version is meant to use a new approach rather than repeat an earlier build. This one uses green Wolverine claws as foliage elements, an unusual parts choice that gives the branches a distinctive texture. The result is interesting, though it could use more density to create a fuller shape.

The small sleigh adds a playful mechanical touch. As it moves, a simple mechanism makes the horse appear to trot. It’s a compact feature, but one that gives the outdoor scene some motion and helps balance the stationary house.

There’s no new 3D-printed Christmas gift comparable to the small blue locomotive included with 10361 Holiday Express Train. That makes this year’s standout design details the tree and the sleigh mechanism, rather than a separate miniature accessory.

Price and display appeal

At €109.99, 11387 Holiday House moves the Winter Village line above the sub-€100 price point that had been common for more than a decade, with some exceptions. The listed price and 1,354-piece count give collectors the basic facts for comparing it with earlier releases; the set’s display appeal will depend on how much they value the new exterior and moving sleigh against the sparse interior and visible lighting element.

As a building for an established Christmas village, it has a pleasant exterior and a distinct roof arrangement that can add variety to a display. The open, roomy interior may also help accommodate the tree, but the exposed upper structure will be noticeable from some viewing angles. And for collectors already running short on display space, another substantial house may be a harder fit than a smaller accessory or vehicle.

My read is that Holiday House remains a likable addition, with its strongest details on the outside and in the small moving feature. The price and less convincing roof finish temper that appeal. Collectors curious about where the range goes next may also keep an eye on the newer Midnight Valley Collection, launched this year with LEGO Icons 11383 Mayor Manor.
